Setting up GA Connector with Consent Banners

GA Connector generally use cookies to store the tracking data from your web visitors and send them over to your CRM once they become leads. In order to become compliant with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, you need to ask consent from your website visitors before placing the cookies that will contain their tracking data.

Various CMPs (Consent Management Platform) that can help you manage and document user consent for you and with some set up, GA Connector should be able work with all of them.

Whether you use a Consent Management Platform or have your own custom software to manage your consent banner, you need to make sure the following conditions are met for GA Connector to work properly.

1. GA Connector script must be placed on all your pages and should be below your Consent banner script.
2. The GA Connector script must be loaded only when cookie consent has been accepted.
3. Referrer must be available when the GA Connector script is loaded so it’s recommended to turn off any setting that would cause the website to redirect or reload upon initial consent approval
