Cache plugins can sometimes cause errors with GA Connector tracking because some plugins would cache or optimize only a portion of the tracking script.
If tracking stopped working after activating a cache plugin like WP Rocket or WP Optimize, the cache plugin is more than likely to have caused the issue.
Fix #1
The easiest way to fix this is to use GTM to install the GA Connector script as GTM will automatically optimize the script for you.
- Go to GTM, and create a new “Custom HTML” tag
- Go to https://app.gaconnector.com/dashboard/integration/ga-to-crm and click Start Installation
- Copy the GA Connector script and paste it on the Custom HTML tag you’ve created in GTM and publish it.
- Remove the GA Connector WordPress plugin
Fix # 2:
Another method to fix this issue is to install the GA Connector script manually on the <head> of your website. You can achieve this by installing a plugin like WPCode or Insert Headers And Footers.
