Install GA Connector tracking code\u00a0on the website<\/h4>\n<p>To start tracking, please put this script on your website:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true \" data-url=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/gaconnector-tracking-code.js?v=2\"><\/pre>\n<p>Requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This code should ideally\u00a0be put<strong> in the very beginning of the &lt;body&gt; tag<\/strong>, or in the &lt;head&gt;. If it\u2019s put in the middle or at the end of &lt;body&gt;, some visitors who don\u2019t wait until the whole page loads, won\u2019t be tracked correctly.<\/li>\n<li>The code needs to be put <strong>on every page of the website<\/strong>, or at least on every page that can potentially the first one that user opens on the website.<\/li>\n<li>\n<article id=\"post-1116\" class=\"clearfix post-1116 post type-post status-publish format-standard hentry category-getting-started category-lead-source-tracking-api-based\">\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<p><strong>If you are using cookie consent banner<\/strong> in your website, make sure to follow the steps outlined\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/setting-up-gaconnector-with-consent-banners\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<section id=\"related-posts\" class=\"clearfix\"><\/section>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alternatives:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If you use WordPress<\/strong>, just install <a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/download\/wordpress\">our plugin<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0it will automatically put GA Connector\u00a0tracking code on every page page of the site in the right place.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you use Google Tag Manager<\/strong>, use <a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/how-to-install-ga-connector-script-on-google-tag-manager-gtm\/\">this instruction<\/a> to add GA Connector tracking code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keep in mind that before we add your domain(s) to our system, you&#8217;ll get\u00a0something like &#8220;Free Trial expired&#8221; instead of real tracking information.<\/p>\n<h4>2. Create custom fields in the CRM\u00a0for the GA Connector fields you want to track.<\/h4>\n<p>The purpose of these fields is to store the tracking information gathered by gaconnector.js.<\/p>\n<p>Here is how you can add them to your CRM:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If you&#8217;re using Salesforce<\/strong>, just install <a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/documentation-for-our-basic-integration-salesforce-package\/\">our\u00a0package<\/a> that will automatically add these custom\u00a0fields for you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you&#8217;re using Zoho CRM<\/strong>, just install <a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/documentation-for-zoho-crm-extension-for-the-basic-integration\/\">our extension<\/a>\u00a0that will automatically add these custom\u00a0fields for you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If you&#8217;re using a different CRM<\/strong>, you&#8217;ll need to create these fields manually. But keep in mind that you don&#8217;t necessarily need to create each of the above fields in your CRM, only the ones you plan on using. But these fields need to be mapped to the corresponding CRM fields in order to appear in your CRM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The mapping process depends on how your forms are connected to your CRM<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re using third-party forms with a CRM add-on that sends hidden field\u2019s data to CRM custom fields<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: Go to the add-on mapping settings and connect new fields you\u2019ve added in step 3.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re using Zapier to connect your forms with CRM<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: head to your form Zap settings and map the new form fields to the corresponding CRM fields.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re using custom code to send form data<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: update the code to send GA fields in addition to existing fields.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>5.\u00a0Add UTM parameters to your PPC sources (optional)<\/h4>\n<p>This way, you&#8217;ll get more information about leads coming through these sources.<\/p>\n<p>If you use Google Adwords, please complete <a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/tag-adword-links\/\">this tutorial<\/a>\u00a0(it shows how to add UTM parameters to all ads quickly &amp; effortlessly).<\/p>\n<p>For other PPC sources, check out the <a href=\"https:\/\/ga-dev-tools.appspot.com\/campaign-url-builder\/\">UTM builder<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>6.\u00a0Create reports and dashboards to display the information collected by GA Connector (optional)<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gaconnector.com\/docs\/create-zoho-crm-report-google-analytics-data\/\">Zoho CRM example<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>7.
