It shows you how your marketing channels, sources, campaigns, and landing pages are performing across your full funnel — from leads, to opportunities, to closed-won revenue.

The dashboard is organized into four tabs:

Overview — High-level performance across all your marketing channels.

Paid Ads — Detailed breakdowns of paid campaigns, including Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Bing, and TikTok.

Organic — Insights into your organic traffic, including top sources, landing pages, and referrers.

Attribution — Side-by-side comparison of First Click and Last Click attribution.

How do I enable Marketing Reports?

When you first open the Marketing Reports section in GA Connector, you’ll see an introduction screen explaining what the feature does. To enable it:

Make sure your Salesforce account is connected to GA Connector.

Click Load Reports on the introduction screen.

If you don’t have a Salesforce connection yet, the button will say Connect Salesforce instead, and walk you through connecting your Salesforce account first.

Do I need a Salesforce account to use Marketing Reports?

Yes. Marketing Reports is currently built specifically to work with Salesforce data. The dashboard pulls your Lead and Opportunity data live from Salesforce in order to show your marketing performance.

If you use a different CRM, this feature isn’t available to you yet — but we’re listening. Support for Zoho and Pipedrive is on our roadmap, and we’ll prioritize building it based on customer interest. If you’d like Marketing Reports for one of these CRMs, please contact our support team and let us know — every request helps us decide what to build next.

Is Marketing Reports included in my plan, or does it cost extra?

Marketing Reports is included as part of GA Connector — there’s no additional cost. If you have an active GA Connector subscription and a Salesforce connection, you can enable it.

How the Data Works

Where does the data come from?

All the data shown in Marketing Reports comes directly from your Salesforce account. We pull your Lead and Opportunity records — along with the marketing attribution data GA Connector has captured (channels, sources, campaigns, etc.) — and display it in the dashboard.

Does GA Connector store my Salesforce data?

No. GA Connector does not store any of your Salesforce data. Every time you open the Marketing Reports dashboard, the data is queried live from Salesforce and rendered in your browser. Nothing is saved or cached on our infrastructure.

This is a deliberate design choice — your Salesforce data stays in Salesforce.

Will using Marketing Reports increase my Salesforce API usage?

Yes, somewhat. Because the dashboard queries Salesforce live every time it loads, it does use Salesforce API calls. For most organizations, the additional usage stays comfortably within Salesforce’s standard API limits.

If you’re curious about the impact on your org, you can monitor your Salesforce API usage at any time:

In Salesforce, go to Setup → System Overview → API Usage.

If you have any concerns about API usage, please contact our support team.

Why don’t the numbers in Marketing Reports match my Salesforce reports exactly?

There are a few legitimate reasons why numbers can differ between Marketing Reports and your custom Salesforce reports:

Date fields used. Marketing Reports uses specific date fields by metric:

Leads use
Lead.CreatedDate

Opportunities Created use
Opportunity.CreatedDate

Closed Won and Revenue use
Opportunity.CloseDate

If your Salesforce report uses a different date field, totals will differ.

Time zone. Marketing Reports uses your Salesforce company-wide default time zone (set in Setup → Company Settings → Company Information). Records near midnight may fall on a different day depending on which time zone is applied.

Closed Won filter. Revenue and Closed Won metrics include only opportunities where
StageName = 'Closed Won'
. If you have custom or non-standard stages, those won’t be counted.

Attribution model. Most charts apply a First Click or Last Click attribution model. Reports without attribution will naturally show different totals.

What time zone are dates shown in?

All dates in the dashboard use the default time zone configured for your Salesforce organization — not your personal time zone or browser time zone.

You can find your org’s default time zone in Salesforce under Setup → Company Settings → Company Information → Default Time Zone.

Using the Dashboard

What’s the difference between First Click and Last Click attribution?

These are two different ways of crediting a marketing channel for a lead or sale:

First Click credits the marketing channel that first brought a visitor to your site. This is useful for understanding which channels are good at introducing new prospects.

Last Click credits the marketing channel from the most recent visit before the lead was created or the deal closed. This is useful for understanding which channels are good at converting prospects.

You can switch between First Click and Last Click globally using the selector at the top of the dashboard. The view will update across all charts.

The Attribution tab is the exception — it shows both First Click and Last Click side by side, so you can directly compare them without switching.

What do the four report tabs show?

Tab

What it covers

Overview

A high-level view of leads, opportunities, and revenue across all your channels. Includes a 4-quarter funnel report.

Paid Ads

Performance of your paid marketing channels — sources, landing pages, campaigns, ad groups, and keywords. Auto-detects platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Bing, and TikTok.

Organic

Performance of your organic traffic — sources, landing pages, top referrers, and trends over time.

Attribution

Compares First Click and Last Click attribution side by side, including a path table showing how leads moved between channels.

Why is the Funnel Report showing different dates than the rest of the dashboard?

The Funnel Report (in the Overview tab) is designed to always show your last four completed quarters, regardless of the date range selector at the top of the page.

This is intentional — the Funnel Report is meant as a stable quarterly view. All other charts will respect whatever date range you select.

What does it mean when a chart shows “no data”?

Charts will appear empty if there are no records matching the current filters. Common reasons:

The date range covers a period with no activity.

The tab’s channel filter excludes your records (e.g., Paid Ads only shows records with Paid, Cross-network, or Display channels).

Try widening your date range or switching tabs to see if data appears.

Can I export the data from Marketing Reports?

Export functionality may be added in future updates. Currently, the dashboard is designed for in-app analysis. If you need to share specific data, you can take screenshots, or build a custom report directly in Salesforce using the same fields the dashboard uses.

Managing the Feature

How do I turn off Marketing Reports?

If you want to disable the dashboard for your account, you can do it directly from the Marketing Reports page:

Open the Marketing Reports section in GA Connector.

Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of the dashboard.

Select Hide Reports.

The dashboard will be turned off for your account. You can always turn it back on later by clicking Load Reports on the introduction screen.

How do I reconnect Salesforce if my connection has expired?

If your Salesforce authentication has expired, you’ll see a Reconnect Salesforce button on the Marketing Reports introduction screen. Click it and walk through the Salesforce login again. Once you’ve reauthorized, you’ll be able to load the reports.

Privacy & Security

Is my Salesforce data secure?

Yes. GA Connector does not store your Salesforce data — we query it live every time the dashboard loads, render it in your browser, and don’t persist it anywhere on our servers.

Your Salesforce connection uses standard OAuth, which means GA Connector never sees your Salesforce password. You can revoke GA Connector’s access from inside Salesforce at any time.

What happens to my data if I disconnect Salesforce?

If you disconnect Salesforce or revoke GA Connector’s access in Salesforce, the dashboard will no longer be able to load data — because there’s nothing stored on our side, the reports will simply stop working until Salesforce is reconnected.

Still Need Help?

If your question isn’t answered here, please reach out to GA Connector support. When you contact us, it helps to include:

A description of what you’re seeing

Which tab or chart in Marketing Reports is involved

A screenshot if possible

The date range and attribution model you have selected

We’re happy to help.

Marketing Reports Currently available for Salesforce only. Marketing Reports is built specifically for customers using Salesforce as their CRM.
